Information Collection and Use
National Mortgages are the sole owners of the information collected on www.national-mortgages.co.uk. National Mortgages & its approved lenders collects information from our users at several different points on our site.

Application Form
We request information from the user on our application form. A user must provide contact information (such as name, email address, home address etc) and in some cases, financial information (such as loan amounts, outstanding credit balances etc). This information is used in consideration of your loan application. We use the information to contact you regarding your application.

We store information that we collect through cookies, our own web server database, log files, clear gif's, and/or third parties to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users. We do not share your profile or personally identifiable information with any third party.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the users computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies only. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates.

By setting a cookie on our site, we allocate each visitor a Unique Reference which follows them throughout the site. This Unique Reference is logged along with referring domain information and just your email address only in the event you make a loan application. If you do not make a loan application, only your referring domain information is stored.

Log Files
Like most standard web site servers, we use log files. The includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyse trends, administer the site, track users movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Clear Gifs (Web beacons/Web bugs)
On occasion, we employ a software technology called clear gifs that help us monitor the effectiveness on certain marketing and advertising which we do across the internet. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users.

Communications from the Site

Special Offers and Updates
We send all new subscribers to our mailing list a welcome email. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. We reply via email, phone or in writing in accordance with the users wishes. To prevent or detect fraud, or to assist in verifying your identity, we may make searches of Group records and at fraud prevention agencies who will supply us with information. We may also pass information to financial and other organisations involved in fraud prevention to protect ourselves and our customers from theft and fraud. If you give us false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this. We, members of the Group, and other companies may use this information if decisions are made about you or others at your address(es) on credit or credit-related services.
